Chamundeswaranath voted to IPL GC

Mumbai: V Chamundeswaranath was on Thursday voted to the IPL governing council as the representative of the India Cricketers’ Association (ICA), reports Gaurav Gupta. Chamundeswaranath, who played 44 First-Class matches for Andhra, beat Harvinder Singh, an ex-Punjab cricketer, by a margin of 317-228.
The 64-year-old Chamundeswaranath has been the secretary of the Andhra Association (ACA) and was the Indian team’s manager for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
In 2013, Chamundeswaranath became a co-owner of the Indian Badminton League franchise Mumbai Masters, in partnership with former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and actor Nagarjuna. TNN

Chamundi makes it to IPL GC

Hyderabad: V Chamundeswaranath, former chairman of the Indian junior selection committee, has been elected as the representative nominee of the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA) to the IPLGoverning council.
He defeated former India player Harvinder by a margin of 89 votes (317-228) in the election held on October 25 and 26, it was informed on Thursday.
The election was necessitated as Pragyan Ojha stepped down. Ojha’s decision not to continue was announced at the 92nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the BCCI in Goa recently. Ojha was part of the Governing council for the last three years. The former India left-arm spinner decided to move on due to personal reasons.
