Twentyish years ago, in a mall on Long Island, Brad Fischetti was riding down an escalator with his LFO bandmates Rich Cronin and Devin Lima. Fresh from the release of their single “Summer Girls,” they were at the mall to do an autograph signing but were unsure if fans would turn out. “I remember, we were really worried, like, ‘Is anybody going to show up?’ You know, it’s embarrassing when you do an autograph signing and there’s nobody there,” Fischetti says, speaking to me over a series of phone and Zoom calls from his home in Florida. Now 45, he still looks remarkably like his younger self.

Halfway down the escalator, the group finally passed the wall that obscured their view of the floor below, revealing a massive crowd of screaming fans. “They see us and they start going ballistic. And you’re going in slow motion down this escalator, you know what I mean? It was a very emotional moment.”

The day marked a turning point for the band, and that summer their single was everywhere. It was a hit on radio stat

LFO (American band)

American pop and hip hop band

For the British band, see LFO (British band).

LFO (an acronym for Lyte Funkie Ones) are an American pop and hip hop band formed in 1995 and consisted of singers Brad Fischetti (born September 11, 1975), Rich Cronin (August 30, 1974 – September 8, 2010), and Brian "Brizz" Gillis (January 19, 1975 – March 29, 2023).[1] In 1998, Gillis left the group and was replaced by Devin Lima (born Harold Lima; March 18, 1977 – November 21, 2018).[2] The group disbanded after Cronin's death in 2010 but briefly reunited (with Fischetti and Lima as a duo) in 2017 before Lima's death a year later.

LFO's single "Summer Girls" reached number 3 on the BillboardHot 100, and the band has sold over four million records worldwide.

1995–1998: Origins and Gillis's departure

In 1995, New Bedford, Massachusetts, Rich Cronin and Brad Fischetti met Brian "Brizz" Gillis. LFO had marginal success with the remake of the Yvonne Elliman song "If I Can't Have You", which missed the Top 40, reaching No. 54 on the UK Sing

LFO

The short bio looks like this: LFO is Brad Fischetti, the disappeared Devin Lima, and the late great Rich Cronin. We burst on to the scene in 1999 with the smash hit Summer Girls from our debut self-titled album. We followed Summer Girls with another top-ten hit in Girl on TV. In 2001, we released our second album, Life is Good, which spawned the top-ten hit, Every Other Time. We decided to go on hiatus in 2002. In 2005, Rich was diagnosed with leukemia. In 2009 we regrouped for a reunion tour. It was short but perhaps the closest we have ever been as a group. We realized the deep love and respect we had for each other and our bond was fortified. In 2010 we lost Rich to his earthly battle with cancer but our brother won eternal life in Heaven.

In the summer of 2017 Devin and Brad reunited for the Rich in Love Tour. The tour was a great success and 2nd and 3rd legs were being planned. Two months after the tour, Devin was diagnosed with adrenal cancer. One year later, Devin disappeared.

I’m not sure the words exist to describe how
