Dan Abnett (born October 12, 1965) is a British novelist and comic writer best known for writing the Gaunt's Ghosts and Eisenhorn books in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. He has also created strips such as Sinister Dexter, Kingdom, Grey Area, and Insurrection/Lawless for 2000 AD, and was a writer on the "reboot" Legion of Super-Heroes for DC Comics and the revamped Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Comics with frequent collaborator Andy Lanning. ("DnA" split up in 2014)
Most crucially for our wiki, Abnett got his start as a Marvel UK staffer in 1987 (right after graduating).[1] As well as editing and sometimes writing titles like Thundercats, Doctor Who and The Real Ghostbusters, he did several strips and a text story for Transformers. Dan Abnett has been writing comics and novels since the mid-1980s.
In comics he has worked on the biggest UK titles at 2000 AD and for Marvel UK, before for the largest American comic book published like Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Abnett has also worked for various medium-sized to small publishers too, like Dark Horse Comics. the Wildstorm imprint, Boom! Studios and Malibu Comics. He has also co-authored a number of titles and frequent collaborators include Andy Lanning and Ian Edginton.
He has also written dozens of novels principally in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, as well as Warhammer Fantasy and Torchwood.

Dan Abnett
Dan Abnett (1984, English) is a multiple New York Times bestselling author and an award-winning comic book writer.
He has written more than forty novels, including the acclaimed Gaunt’s Ghosts series, the Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies, volumes of the million-selling Horus Heresy series, The Silent Stars Go By (the 2011 Christmas Doctor Who novel), Triumff: Her Majesty’s Hero, and Embedded.
In comics, Dan is known for his work on The Legion of Super-Heroes, Resurrection Man, The New Mutants, Nova, the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Vertigo series The New Deadwardians. A regular contributor to 2000AD, he is the creator of series including Grey Area, Kingdom and the classic Sinister Dexter.
