CHICAGO - Beauty industry mogul Marilyn Miglin, who hosted for the Home Shopping Network for over 25 years, has died. She was 83.

According to her website, Marilyn Miglin died Monday surrounded by her family. TMZ reports she died due to complications from a stroke.

She was the wife of real estate tycoon Lee Miglin who was murdered by serial killer Andrew Cunanan in 1997.

Lee Miglin, 72, was beaten and stabbed to death in the garage behind his Gold Coast home. His body was discovered by Marilyn whose own cosmetics empire had helped make the Miglins a prominent Chicago couple.

Within days, police identified the suspect as Cunanan, a 27-year-old who would commit two more murders, including the killing of fashion designer Gianni Versace, before committing suicide in a Miami houseboat that July.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Marilyn Miglin was 83 years old when she passed away Monday in Chicago.



While in her later years she was best known as a popular host on the Home Shopping Network, hers was a life that spanned great highs and equally great lows, all lived in the public spotlight.



In 1997, Miglin's husband, renowned businessman Lee Miglin was murdered inside their Gold Coast home by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Two months later, he took Gianni Versace's life before killing himself.

Marilyn Miglin, the cosmetics magnate, former Home Shopping Network host and wife of murdered real estate developer Lee Miglin, died Monday.

Mrs. Miglin, 83, was surrounded by family when she died in Chicago, according to an announcement posted on the website of the Chicago cosmetic company that bears her name.

She died of complications from a stroke, her son Duke Miglin said.

Her husband Lee Miglin was murdered in 1997 by Andrew Cunanan, who killed five people over the course of three months, including fashion designer Gianni Versace. The crimes made worldwide news.
