Sandara Park born on November 12, 1984 in Busan, South Korea also known as Dara, is one of the vocal members of South Korean girl group 2NE1. Her unusual three-syllable Korean name, which she has talked about numerous times during interviews, comes from that of a Korean general, Kim Yushin, whose childhood name was “Sandara산 다 라“.
Sandara was born to affluent Korean parents. However, by the time Sandara was eight years old, her father’s relatives placed her in a financially tight spot which then crippled his business. In hope of recovering from this strain, Sandara‘s father tried his luck in the Philippines. He settled in a small apartment in Pasay City, and started a business. Sandara and her family remained at her grandmother’s house in South Korea for some time until her father finally had enough money to relocate them to the Philippines.

2NE1 is a four-member girl group under YG Entertainment. They debuted on May 6, 2009 with the single "Fire".
Their name stands for "New Evolution of The 21st Century" and is pronounced as "To anyone" or "Twenty-one". Prior to their debut, the group appeared alongside labelmates BIGBANG for the commercial song "Lollipop" in 2009.
On November 25, 2016, YG Entertainment announced the group's disbandment. Their final single, "Goodbye", was released on January 21, 2017. While CL performing at Coachella, the group reunited and had their first performance since 2015.
On July 22, 2024, YG Entertainment officially announced that 2NE1 plans to work with the agency. The legendary girl group is now planning an exciting global tour that includes stops in Seoul, Osaka, and Tokyo commemorating their 15th debut anniversary.
The group was first mentioned in the press in late 2008. Originally planned to be a trio, it was to consist of members CL, Park Bom, and Minzy. The fourth member, Dara, was added later and the group was unveiled in its final form in the "Lollipop" video.

2NE1 (Korean: 투애니원; RR: Tuaeniwon, IPA:[tʰu.ɛ.ni.wʌn]) is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The group consists of Bom, CL, Dara, and Minzy. Known for their musical experimentation, fashion, and stage presence, they are a leading figure of the Korean Wave and among the most influential K-pop girl groups of all time. They are recognized for expanding girl group styles in the Korean music industry, which in turn broke stereotypes of K-pop.
The group was introduced in March 2009 after appearing on the promotional single "Lollipop" alongside labelmate BigBang. 2NE1 rose to prominence with the release of their debut eponymous extended play (EP) that same year, which featured the singles "Fire" and "I Don't Care".
