Keown returns to Riverbank for free concert

A free concert in Brandon tonight features award-winning Canadian country music artist Ryan Keown, fresh from his performance last weekend at Dauphin’s Countryfest.

Keown’s concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverbank Discovery Centre on the Fusion Credit Union Stage. It’s a venue he has played before and he says he’s looking forward to coming back this evening.

“We like to pick our songs as we go, but we play to the crowd,” Keown said. “And we have a real nice mix of everything from classic country to the new modern stuff and incorporate some of our original material into the show. So it’s sort of interactive and fun for everybody.”

Last year, Keown’s song “A Lie I Can Live With” won the Josie Award for modern country song of the year during the awards show at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn.
