Conejo is a Chicano rapper, originally from Los Angeles, California. Recognized as one of the finest examples of Chicano rap, because of his straightforward lyrics that express the life of a Mexican gangster. He already has several albums and mixtapes to back it up. He is also part of the group called Tattoo Ink, with whom they already have 2 studio albums. Tattoo Ink consists of Conejo himself and his brother Bugsy 2 Guns, their third brother, Venom, frequntly features in tracks with them. He is from Dead End Harpys gang located in West Los Angeles. His production company is Notorious Enemy and his record label is Felony Case and associates himself with Ernie G (of Proper Dos) and High Caliber records.

    Chicano rap artist arrested in Mexico in 2002 house party slaying

    It took almost 14 years, but the law finally caught up with murder suspect Jose Martin.

    Known by the stage name “Conejo,” Martin had been performing as a Chicano rap artist in Mexico for years.

    While on the run, Martin established his own label, Felony Case Records, and set up an apparel line, selling shirts, sweatshirts, music and framed pictures of himself.

    Martin’s rap aspirations were cut short recently however, when Los Angeles police detectives and members of the FBI Fugitive Task Force found him in Baja California and arrested him. Martin was returned to Los Angeles and booked on suspicion of murder, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

    More than a decade ago, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Martin in connection with the death of Mario Eduardo Gutierrez.

    Gutierrez, 25, had attended a party on Nov. 3, 2002, at a home in the 4800 block of West 48th Street in the Vermont Square neighborhood, according to police.

    Jose Martin (born September 9, 1974), better known by his stage name Conejo, which means “Rabbit” in Spanish. He is a Mexican-American recording artist from West Los Angeles, California. Conejo has released multiple albums such as “City Of Angels” (1999) and the “Devil Playground” (2006). Conejo is also a member of  Tattoo Ink, a Chicano rap group consisting of Venom (rapper) and Bugsy (rapper), who are also brothers of Conejo.

    Conejo found success after releasing Fallen Angel (album) accompanied by “Lets Ride” which was also featured on The Sheild, a television show produced by FX (TV Channel) and is loosely based around the Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Scandal. Conejo is the founder and the CEO of Felony Case Records. In 2012, Chicano rapper Serio, released a song “Don’t Hate Me Cause I’m Mexican” featuring Proper Dos and Conejo.
