Dr. Maggie Kigozi

Dr Maggie Kigozi is the Chairperson of Africa Scout Foundation, a medical doctor by profession, a business consultant, and Chancellor of Nkumba University.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and has practised as a physician in Zambia, Kenya and Uganda. In 1994, Dr Maggie left the medical profession and joined Crown Bottlers Uganda Limited as the Marketing Director where she has worked until her appointment at the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) in 1999.

KAMPALA - Former Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) executive director Dr Margaret Kigozi has said the Will her husband left when he died in 1994 enabled her to take over his business as one of its managers. 

Her husband, Eng. Dan Lubwama Kigozi, died when she was 45 years old and now she is 72. 

Eng. Kigozi, who was one of the shareholders and the executive director of Crown Beverages Ltd, breathed his last after privatising Lake Victoria Bottling Company. 

He had led it as executive director for less than two years together with his partners, Amos Nzeyi and Chris Kayoboke. 

His death cut short Maggie’s blossoming medical career just three years after returning from Kenya in 1991.

Margaret Blick Kigozi, commonly known as Dr Maggie Kigozi, 71, is currently a consultant at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). She is also a medical doctor who practiced in Zambia, first as an intern and thereafter, a physician between 1977 and 1979.

Born in Fort Portal to George William Blick, a civil engineer and Molly Johnson Blick, a fashion designer, she comes from a family of avid motorcycle riders. Her father and siblings were champions between the 1960s and 1970s with Dr Maggie greatly involved. The similarities stretch to the fact that both parents had English fathers and Baganda mothers.

Apart from loving motorcycle riding, Dr Maggie also loved lawn tennis, table tennis, hockey and squash and represented Uganda in these sports fields.
